This surgery aims to create a dent in the skin by attaching it to the underlying muscle so that it becomes a natural and dynamic dimple.
After the procedure, you would have a permanent dimple for around a week. It would gradually get better and then the dimples would appear only when you smile.
Once the incision heals around the sutured skin, it pulls in your skin whenever you smile, imitating a natural dimple.
What To Expect After The Surgery?
After the surgery, it might take you 2 to 3 weeks to recover completely. During the initial days, you would experience slight swelling and pain in the operated area. Over time, it would go away. Meanwhile, you can use cold packs or cold water gargles to relieve the pain and swelling.
You will need to take your antibiotics and other medications to prevent infection and to take care of the pain and swelling. Also, taking care of your oral hygiene is immensely important. Use an antiseptic mouthwash daily to prevent wound infection.
